well i was on the highway the car overheated then shut off.... first thing i did was call AAA cause car wouldn't start but did turn over... so the shop said head gasket then charged me 1k for head gasket and timing belt... well car still wont start it just turns over only when i sprayed it with ethril is when it started but wont anymore... i brought it to a shop they don't think that the other shop even did the head gasket cause it looked like shit and also my compression were very low.. just wondering if u have any pointers i just hope i didnt blow the motor cause it was rebuilt like 2 years ago:banghead:

i would take it back to the shop and tell them to really fix your problem for free since they did not fix it the first time

You should start with a compression check, if it is not consistant then bring it back to the repair shop. You should see around 150psi give or take a few on the 1g.

Yea after this other shop looks at it thats what im doing cause this shop is tilling me my compressions are at lowest is 80 then like 90 110 and 120 and they only go up about 10 when wet.. if the head is still warped would air be leaking out of it???

well how would i be able to tell if he cracked it or if it already was cause what if he says it was like that

go back to the shop. get yer money back... report them to the BBB. then take it somewhere else to get it fixed. period. if you don't do that... well, yer an idiot. if they don't want to comply you can take it to the next level... oh yeah, and report them to the BBB.

and next time.. if you take it to a shop to get it fixed... per what they diagnose is wrong... and they don't fix the problem... you don't pay a dime. it is pretty simple. they either fix what is really wrong or have to give you your car back.

good luck with that man., i hate shady shops. that's why the shop i work for we guarantee our work 100% customer satisfaction and deem our work reliable or you don't pay a dime.

if they don't fix it or give you your car back because you "owe them money for repairs"... you can now sue them. but if you signed an invoice release and paid them you technically just signed away that you accepted them doing that for whatever they charged you and you could be screwed.

yea well the thing is its like my best friends dad that did the work LOL i brought it to him and asked to do the head gasket and nothing and when he finished he said the engine is junk but people i have talked to said he might have put something on wrong or didnt really shave the head cause he is kinda shady like u said

why would he do it if the engine was junk LOL.

exactly man how can u not tell if the engine was junk before doing the head... so i have a friend that is going to take everything apart and make sure that everything is put back togather right and that the head is really shaved and then go from there how does that sound???
