I was crusing along when suddenly my 90 Talon Tsi AWD starts to idle all over and then dies. I luckily was on a down off ramp and coasted off the road. Wouldn't restart. Then it restarts and dies instantly. Waited another minute then it did the same. I pop the hood and look around. Everything looks fine. Then I mess with the POS battery terminal and wiggle it and tighten it some more. Go to start and it runs perfect. WTF? CE light came on earlier in the day and idle was all over. CE (or analog tester) shows me"coolant temp sensor" and the book says "not to damage the sensor or it will mess with fuel injection"

Also, my fuel pump suddenl seems really loud, from behind it sounds like a "hiss" more than before. Maybe I just noticed it, but it sure seems louder.

And which is the coolant temp sensor? DSM Manual shows the one with two wires going to it, my Chiltons shows the one below it??

Ok, they both show the bottom one, but mine has no wire going to it. Isnt' there supposed to be a wire going to it?

oh holy crap!
Now i remember! Its tubes that go into that!
Thanks for the pics!

Ok, where do those tubes go? i think they go to the top of the EFI? Cause i disconnected all my emissions stuff years ago and those tubes are gone and that little plastic connector is broken. I remember braking it, but it has been running fine for a couple years. Still confused

Ok edit again. I just checked Taboo speed shop and he has that disconnected like I do, I wonder why i'm getting this CE signal then?

That fuel pump sure is loud now...
I guess I need an OBDI tester.

Holy cow edit again! I'm looking to high I guess now, its that one below it
