I have a 97 eclipse Gs-t and i live in Michigan, so i store my car over winter in my garage. Well i havent got to start it so far this winter because i have been working on it/being lazy. So yesterday i get everything back together fire it up and its dead, i go to advance auto and they claim the battery is dead. So i buy a Optima red top install it, and what do you know it starts right up. So i let it warm up for around 5 minutes and take it down the road. As i get closer to my house on the way back it totally dies on me!!! Luckily im coasting fast enough to make it half way up my driveway. After it dies i smell this burnt smell. It smelled like it came from the engine bay. At first i thought it might be my ecu but it wasnt as strong inside my car as it was on the outside when i lifted the hood. Do you think its a short in the system somewhere or something else? Its too dark right now to check the fuses also i checked the battery and its dead (Brand new BTW) Does anyone know what this could possibly be? Thanks in Advance.

Please note the things i did to my car before it died.
Cleaned intercooler and uicp
Removed dvd, and cd player from the car.

I think i might have found what it was.. Man do i ever feel stupid too. When i took out the battery the second ground (not the ground that comes from on top of the firewall) wasnt hooked up!!! So im going to charge my battery, hook it up properly and hopefully nothing was damaged.
