I was driving normal and my car just wouldn't go anymore. I pushed on the gas and nothing, I tried to put it in neutral and it started to die so I put it in drive and coasted till i was off the road and it died. Now it wont start back up. I have had this nothing but problems with this car and i have about had it with the DSM scene if it doesn't get any better. I really need help. The temp is like 25 outside.:notgood:

I have a CEL on but it is for my idle control motor it has been on since i bought the car. I really haven't had time to look at it, the temp was like 20 outside when it happened. I am going to tow it back to my house tomorrow so I will know more then. I am thinking that it is water froze in my tank or my fuel pump went bad. Sorry about the bump my friend did it when i was in the other room. Do you guys know of anything else to look for?

 I took my car to a repair shop because it just died on me one day and i went to talk to the repair man and here's what he said. I have very low compression if any, there is gas in the cylinder and i have spark, but the timing marks are not even close to lineing up with top dead center. Does anyone have a idea it is a new timing belt. Could it have jumped a couple teeth maybe or is it something more serious. Please Help Me

My laser skipped 3 teeth on the timing belt and bend valves. The head repair guy didn't even notice the bends but they were bent. So I would try lining the marks up and see if it starts. If it doesn't start then you most likly bent your valves. and if it is more then 3 teeth off then you will need a valves job. But if it start you most have got really lucky and didn't bend anything. Oh and check the compression if it starts. They may just be bent a little.

I bought the car from a guy in November and he just did it before i bought it so like 1500 miles ago. If the valves are bent anyone want to buy it, just messing maybe

Take the top timing cover and see if the timing belt may have broken. Some people will use super cheap bents. I like the OEM belts or Dayco.

Very important, to get ALL the timing marks to line up you may need to turn the crank up to 6 times. Don't lose hope yet.

Get your car away from that shop. You have jumped timing. Find a shop that knows about DOHC Mitsubishi engines.

There are no "cheap" timing belts. They aren't the sort of thing that bear any return for a manufacturer to build cheaply.

Not trying to argue just curious at to why you say there are no "cheap" timing belts?

most of the parts stores in my area list 2 grades a very inexpensive one and a good one. some even list a $249.00 colored racing timing belt. I like the OEM belts or Dayco belts. I have changed a bunch of these at our shop and I have had trouble with the less expensive belts.

thanks for everyones help it did jump time. My harmonic balancer blew up and went into my timing cover and cause it to jump 7 teeth. Needless to say my exhaust valves where bent so bad they imbedded into my pistons. So I am doing a 6 bolt swap with the help of a great shop called TPG tuning they are great for info PM me thanks for all your help again.
