I had a 95 talon tsi with a 6 bolt in it and decided to put the engine in a new 96 eclipse shell I got, I when ahead and did redid the cas wiring since is a new car and dropped then engine in, nothing else was done but when I try to start it all it would do is crank crank, cheked fuel and spark and everything is good to go. A friend tells me I have to play with the cas and adjust timing again. One more thing I had draing all the oil about 4 days ago and I try cranking the car 2 times and remember that I still had to put in the oil I bought but since the engine did not turn on I hope is still in good condition. Please give me any inputs.

i have the same problem with my ESi and i can't figure what the heck is wrong with it. i just pulled the intake off of it to get out my injectors to see if they are clogged up but other than that i don't have a clue as to what to do. my gf's dad is a mechanic and he gave the advice to check all the wireing to make shure all of it is hooked up right and nothing is disconnected or that it's getting the proppor voltage. i'm reading 11 volts on my spark pluggs but i don't know why that would happen. and i know they are getting electricity because my dad got shocked while checking everything with me. as far as the timing i was told that getting something like a small 2.0 is next to impossible to get out of time. but still there is the chance that that's what's up.

Well I was just told to check if my injectors ae firing, I'm getting fuel because the gauge is going up but that dosent meen my injectors are firing, this was I was told.

I cheked the wiring for the cas and it was fine i even solder it, i when ahead and bought a noid light tester and i wasent getting any voltage threw the injector harness, idont think the transistor pack is bad or else it woulndt have given me any spark, at this point i am clueless and was thinking about taking the car back to were i got my motor done so they could check it. Unless anybody here could figure it out i am up for any suggestions.

Thanks againg.

Javie are you sure your CAS is good? is it outputting a good signal? I really think it is related... I am of the oppinion that you are not getting the signal to the ECU telling it that the crank is rotating so it can figure out how to fire the injectors. And since the rewire gets that information to the ECU from CAS, I think its either culprit or the wiring to your Crank angle sensor. Also, if you are running the 95 ecu it is expecting a signal that is inverse of the 90-94 CAS... which could be fooling the ECU further. DSMLink has an invert switch to get around this problem.

One final test, if the ECU doesn't think the Crank is rotating it will throw a code when starting. Check the code.

I connected dsmlink and tried to start the car but it did not throw any codes except for the engine coolant temp, as far as the cam angle sensor it was working with no problem in the other car. I also tried to start it with the inverted option in dsmlik on and off and nothing.

Problem fixed for some reason my fic 850cc weren firing. I put the 450cc back in and the car fired up. What should ido about my 850cc, i think the may be clogthe since i only i used them once 1 year ago for like a day and they just been sitting at my house till about 4 days ago when i put them in the car.

Do a capture and tell us what the coolant temperature sensor reading is.
