Car broke down last night, help me

Well i was racing this guy and i have always had a constant problem with missing second gear and third, well thing is we raced from a stop and when i put in third gear the clutch stayed pressed down and in gear, i then moved the shifter to neutral and i can't get the car into gear because the clutch doesn't seem to be moving, the clutch pedal stays down.

There was no weird noise when this happened, no grinding, breaking, just that the clutch stayed pressed down.

What may be the problem? I was told by a buddy that clutch pump could be the cause and it is common in eclipses, also maybe the slave something.

How can i check this? I have a manual and garage tools so could i do this myself of what?

Well if you have any ideas, suggestions of things i should check let me know.

I had the same thing happen to me not long ago. I stopped at ared light and when it turned green i tried putting it in first gear. The pedal went in so i shifted but then it wouldnt come back up so i put it in neutral. I tried it again by lifting the pedal with my hand but again when i pressed it in it would stay there. So was stuck in rush hour causing huge trafic . that was fun.

Anyways... I found my problem to be a leak in the clutch-pump wire. I looked under the hood and noticed that it was leaking. So i replaced that litle metal hose and filled up the pump tank again and it worked.

Check if there is any liquid left in the small round container in the upper rigt corner. Thats the oil for the clutch pupmp. If its empty, check for leaks. Oh and fill it up with brake fluid, not oil.

r u able to lift the pedal up and does it stay up after i press it again? if it does than it's ur shift fork. other than that, it's what eclipsedude said.

alright, what if the container had liquid???

I was advised to change:
master cylinder
slave cylinder
cylinder line

Where would i get the line? Am i good with just changing the slave??

first check to see if there is fluid in the MC if not them you foudn your problem. Also look and see if there is fluid on the floor inside car at firewall where petal is. yes , then MC , replace it , about 1hr job i guess , it was a slight pain in the ass. If thats not it try you slave , get you head under there and see if its leaking. Slave is easy job. If that doesnt work just throw a stick of C4 in the car and run , BOOOOOOOOOOOM
