Car boosting but not going anywhere

yeah theres something up with my gst i can push the gas and the boost gauge gose up but it dose speed up and bogs down alot then if i switch gears like from 2nd to 3rd then it takes off and it only dose it every now and then do u think spark plugs could cause this? i changed plugs and it has a greedy bov and a air intake installed but you wouldnt think that would cause this.

What kind of spark plugs did you put?

Do you have a datalogger? How much boost are you running? Boost leak test? Do you have engine tick?

Boost Leak. That should always be the first thing you check when something like this happens. I would suggest doing random boost leak checks maybe once a month or more if you like. Thats what I do. If you aren't familiar with boost leak checks do a little research. All you need is a compressor and a boost leak tester you can make from under $10 worth of parts from the hardware store.

I know what you mena I get this also And have been for about 3-4 years now I've had my car over 7 years now. I know its not

I have Dsmlink also and like you said it does this very rarely also to add to this on my EGT guage that will rise also alog with boost and the car is some what lagging. I have yet to find the prob am on my 7th turbo now so it dont have anything to do with that on my 4th tranny nothing with that. If you find out let me know HAHA good luck but it only seems to do this rarely for me, mainly when i frist get in the car and go.

Do a boost leak test. You can find this in the tech guide, which is on the top bar. Also if it comes and goes... Do you get engine tick? I dont know if 2g's were proned to have engine tick. I had something similar happen to me though. I had ticking lifters, not even that loud, and the knock sensor picked it up, and retards your timing like crazy. Replaced my lifters and it hasn't happen since.

Holy SH1T, now that you say something every time it does do this my check engine light goes on which is my Knock Sencer for DSMlink. I think that is it.

Yeah if it's not a severe boost leak, my money is on Phantom Knock.
My car suffers from it and it's a real pain in the ass. I also dont have 160+ for new lfiters.

its not a boost leak. i know exactly what it is. it is some sort of phantom knock. i have a stage 3 dsmchips eprom with stock boost guage converted to knock guage. when this problem happened i looked at the guage and it went through the roof. the ecu pulls so much timing that the car wont go nowhere even though you hear the turbo spooling. think of it as an unwanted anti lag system. .

yeah its a boost leak i finaly got around to makeing me a tester and its leaking around my bov on the UIP pipe it dry rotted and it leaks pretty fast cause i didnt even have time to unplug the pump and all the air was gone i got me a UIPC pipe orderd off ebay its metal and has a flange built in so it should solve my problem with that.
