I searched the forums but couldn't find an answer. I'm having a problem reading my ECU ROM with EcuFlash 1.44.4503. I am using a Windows 7 laptop. Car is a 1997 Eclipse AWD turbo with a black box ECU (MD346675- from a 98 Eclipse base on p/n) that has been flashed. I wanted to download the flashed ROM to know what's in there. I have a 13.1 cable (I think it's from evoscan) that came with the car. It has the "extra" wire that I plugged to pin 79 on the ECU. When I try to read the ECU ROM it appears to connect but then gives an error message and disconnects. This is what the LOG says:
[15:59:07.037] using metadata XML ID read_ACD from file C:/Program Files (x86)/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata/read templates/read_ACD.xml
[15:59:07.115] Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Universal TX2LjdE*18538edd4eb2b89a009bade7bb6281e99479dbf2
[15:59:13.527] sending init sequence 2
[15:59:13.527] got 0x11 response
[15:59:13.527] sending init sequence 3
[15:59:13.932] entering bootloader
[15:59:13.932] sending kernel size (1951)
[15:59:13.964] sending kernel load address (0x0000F000)
[15:59:13.995] uploading kernel
[15:59:14.307] verifying kernel checksum response
[15:59:14.307] kernel valid
[15:59:14.510] kernel get version
[15:59:14.541] kernel version is : OpenEcu Mitsubishi H8/539FA Kernel V1.07
[15:59:14.541] reading kernel comm buffer size
[15:59:14.556] comm buffer size set to 256
[15:59:14.556] reading kernel flash buffer size
[15:59:14.572] flash buffer size set to 1024
[15:59:14.603] interface close
Any ideas what the problem could be? Does it matter which vehicle you select before the download (I tried all the H8539F and H8539FA chip types which I believe is right for my ECU). I also had a battery charger installed to keep voltage up.
