I have never had an issue with this until the past few days. Ive noticed all of a sudden that my vehicle speed is not registering in ecmlink when I log. I dont know if it is relevant but the same day my car starting stalling everytime I come to a stop...any thoughts?

So say there was an issue with the vss input to the ecu, would that have any effect on the way that the car ran?

Now they say there is little if any affect on drivability/performance. However, with my 5-speed 2g, my VSS coming unplugged rendered the car almost completely undriveable as if it had a serious boost leak. Exhaust popping, stalling, jerking engine, etc. Just plugging it back in fixed the issue completely.

Not saying that's definitely the problem, but fix the issue with the ECU reading speed and see if the stalling goes away. If not, it's likely either a vacuum leak or alternator issue.

Maybe but my speedometer still works...

That's because the Vss is built into it and as long as the cable is still attached it will.

If you by chance have another gauge cluster you could swap out it would be a fairly easy way to see if it will resolve the problem. As the Vss is built into and behind the actual Speedo in the the cluster of a 1g.

I crawled under my dash this morning while warming my car up for work and took a look at the harness where it plugged into the ecu. The vss input wire had a break in it so I'm sure that's why I cannot log speed. I'm gonna fix it after work and see if that solves my stalling problem as well...

The laptop in your car have a type of mouse that if you tap it its the same as clicking the left mouse click button? Like as in the mouse that you move with your index finger can also "left click"?

If so, double check all your settings in link. For a laptop in my car I use a Acer 10" mini and its mouse sensor also can "tap to click" and as I was driving and messin with start stream and all that I some how accidentley changed a voltage setting from 2.47 V's to .24V's.

My cars air fuel was totally F'd up! I was like "WTF!?!?" It took me like 2hours to relize that I accidently changed settings in link by draggin my mouse around and accidently clickin stuff goin over bumps.

Double check all LINK settings

Thats strange. I've mine come unplugged a few times before and didn't notice any affects.

Well fixed that wire and it did the trick. No more stalling at all totally back to normal. I was unaware that it would have that much effect on the drivability but it did. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!!
