I cant seem to get my AirflowPerRev to change at all. I know it needs to be a lot lower than what is right now. It doesn't change no matter how much I adjust the sliders.

I'm having poor idle issues after its warmed up, its not surging anymore (changed the throttle body) but it will idle for a few seconds then either sputter down low or just completely die.

I unplugged the MAF connector and it idled high and surged between 2000-2200 rpms. Thinking maybe the MAF is messing with me. I'm running a 3"GM MAF with ECMLink's GM to 2G cable since someone had a 2G MAF on the car before I got it.

Here's an Idle log. Anyone got suggestions?

You need to log maf raw. then watch where your maf raw is idling and move the hertz slider closest to where the engine idles. for example if the engine is idling around 547 hertz on the maf raw then move the 500 hertz slider and maybe the 600 hertz as well to get the airflow per rev to the magic .25 number then post up another log . and make sure you clear the DTC'S

^^^Exactly. You need to capture MafRAW in order to see what airflow slider you are idling at. With a 3" GM maf, I've seen airflow readings just under 500hz range. You adjusted every airflow slider that you DONT idle at.

Capture MafRAW (and display it) , and run the Mafcomp Adjust tool and only datalog closed loop idle. V3 will tell you what airflow sliders to adjust.

Alright, I captured MAFRaw and at idle it was around 700Hz. So I started to adjust the sliders to get it closer to .25 AirFlowPerRev, but I couldn't get it even close with out it starting to die and idling like garbage. The closest I got was around .33 but it would hardly stay running.

I didn't get a change to record a log, but I'm not really sure what to do now. I must have some other issue with it.

Also when I ground the Timing connector via ECMLink, it wont run at all. I can start it with giving it a little gas but it wont stay running.

Have you or are you setting the timing ? and have you done a boost leak test? did you readjust the dead time? that's why we need to see another log with the adjustments you made.

The timing was set correctly before I had this issue.

I have not done a boost leak test, but I know I should do one to be sure I don't have a leak.

I'll see if I can get another log tomorrow.

Ok, I just made a boost leak tester today at work so I will check that out tomorrow.

Somehow I got the car to idle with the timing connector and diagnostic connector grounded (it wasn't before). I set the idle and all that happy crap.

Now I set the sliders back to zero, and it seems to idle the best like that. I will try to get my AirFlowPerRev lower as soon as I figure out some other problems.

I have two problems I would like to fix as of right now.
1. I'm getting CEL for the IAT. I'm running a 3"GM MAF with ECMLink's GM cable to 2G MAF connector that has been spliced in from the previous owner running a 2g MAF on this 1G. I understand that the GM MAF just has a constant temp reading and doesn't change. Isn't DSMLink supposed to be ok with this? The CEL comes on during cruising speeds with very light throttle, but goes off if I back out and get back in it. (It's sluggish when CEL is on also)

2. It will sit and idle fine but as soon as I turn the key off and the turbo timer takes over it will bog down after about 5-10 seconds and just shut off before the timer lets it. I have no idea why its doing that. I'm using the new HKS type-1 timer

Did you check the box labeled (lock intake and baro)? Also the way the GM maf works it requires no IAT as the temperature changes in the air the maf will see the difference so you just want to lock the signal.

No I didn't, but I do now... Seems to have fixed that problem, Thanks! :thumb:

Ok, I've just got back from vacation and planned on working on this thing some more.

I'm still getting a CEL at cruising speed under light throttle but doesn't show up Link under update DTC's.

Did a boost leak test and nothing seems to be leaking.

I'm still around .38-.47 AirFlowPerRev

As soon as I adjust the slider it stalls out.

I need help.

Did you set you TPS sensor correctly? Is it at 0% with you foot off the pedal?

Otherwise the only times I think I had cel problems with no codes it was the ECU or the TPS.

I would check into this being a possible problem.

i read this in your post and it raises a flag with me.

I know there's a difference between the 1g and 2g dsm link cables for the gm maf. i'm not saying that's your problem, but it's something to look in to. just a thought

You raise a good point. Does it make a difference if you run the GM-2G cable on a 1G instead of using the GM-1G cable?
