Cant get a couple of rocker arms back on.

There are 4 that I cant get to seat on the valve stem seat because the cam lobe is faced directly downward... Is it okay if I rotate the crank manually to move the lobe out of the way?
 
That's why I told you to make sure it was rotated correctly and to only do the ones closed, so nothing gets in the way! But i think you should be fine rotating were you need to, just go slow and make sure you don't feel anything binding up, your timing belts on and set correct so I don't see any issues.

Well crap... I have to be in class at 9:25 am LOL. I have to figure this out and get everything put together, with the VC on, prime, and go for a cruise before I can sleep :/

Are you sure 100% that im not going to F anything up by rotating the crank? Gahh I love/hate these cars, but I wouldnt have it any other way.

Any comment on the metal shavings? It looks like metal, but could be old oil build up from the PO. Its only in the oil passages.. super weird.
 
Metal shavings?? Did you mention this in the other thread?? Sorry just got home from the shop and looked at my phone again LOL. I'm doing alittle search for ya but I'm pretty sure your fine rotating it. I believe without the rocker arm and lifter in the valve won't open so it can't hit anything right?

Yes the oil shavings are weird. I just did an oil change, there was nothing in the oil or filter. These shavings are only in the ehad, and im worried because I dropped a rocker arm down into an oil passage and when I fetched it out, it had 3 little metal chunks on it :/

Yes no rocker arm means the cam isn't engaging the valve so it can't open. Like I said just go really slow and make sure you don't feel anything bind, you'll be fine bro. And ya the metal stuff doesn't sound good at all. Ever blown a turbo or spun a bearing? How many miles on the motor? If your really concerned drop the oil pan and investigate. Then with the valve cover off you can clean all the oil passages out really good, definitely could be bad news if that metal gets in the wrong place. Main concern is its coming from somewhere and I would definitely want to find out for piece of mind.
 
I went back and relooked and grabbed a magnet. Its not sticking to the magnet, so I think its just old oil chunks. The head has a lot of chunky oil build up because the 1 PO used shitty oil or something. Ive never had any engine problems though.

Gonna run up to the store for a 1/2 bar.
