Like to interduce myself. Name's Chris,i've owned me 2gb for almost a year.
Im still learning alot about dsm's

I have a 99 GST with 93,000mi.

MODS: FMIC,HKS SSQV,hard upper and lower intercooler pipes, intake,MBC,Cheap boost gauage, upgraded stage 4 Competition Clutch and light flywheel,3"turbo back exhaust with o2 dump. Stock Slow t-25

Problems: I can't boost over 11psi and I feel like i've lost alot of torque in low rpm's. I mean almost feels like clutch is slipping but i cant smell it burning at all or turbo lag on a t-25. And has no pull after swifting. What should i try, and advice?

I want a new turbo setup with in the next 3 months. I was shooting for PTE 50-trim. What's everyone think to big?

did you mean it has no pull after shifting? and i would say a 50 trim is a little to big unless you have the proper tuning equipment otherwise its a:nono:

I am going to say what everyone else will first. You probably have a boost leak. Do a boost leak test. And with 93k check for any excessive shaft play or oil in the turbo outlet.

Next, no a 50 is not too big, just make sure you have all the supporting mods FIRST. ie enough fuel, and some kind of fuel monitoring and management.

Welcome to tuners. Definitely sounds like a boost leak. To do a test look in the tech sections. There should be a couple threads on how to make one. You'll want to test the system at whatever psi you're going to run. And fill out your profile with your mods for future reference. :thumb:

And if everything checks out good for the BLT, check your MBC and mess with the setting.

Yup as stated above do a boost leak test then go to the MBC. Prob a simple fix. But how many miles are on that clutch?

Yeah, you probably do have a boost leak, but those don't usually restrict your ability to build boost pressure unless it's HUGE. If it's really big, you may be seeing rich knock as well, which could contribute to your bad performance. Either way not a bad idea to test.

Easiest way to see if the clutch is slipping is to put the car in 5th at a relatively low speed, up a hill if possible, and see if your engine speed increase matches your road speed increase. If you just rev out without going any faster then the clutch is going south.

Here are a number of other possiblities: that your wastegate is stuck open a bit; that your mbc or installation thereof is not right; that you have large exhaust leaks at the manifold/turbo or manifold/block; that you have some crazy knock issue that's retarding timing enough to do this (you'll need a logger for this).

Try this simple test in addition to the blt...connect your boost source line straight from your turbo to your wastegate and see what you boost to. That will eliminate the mbc as a culprit.

If i was going to go with a 50 trim setup. I would have the following:

PTE 50 trim (internal or external wastegate)
Dsm Link v2 or v3
780 or 880 inj
Walbro 255
AEM wideband
Is Stock Maf alright?

I'm not sure how well the T-25 can keep pressure up with a larger intercooler like a front mount, but the stock MAF will be fine and those supporting mods sound great, but if you are gonna get DSMLink you might as well get some really big injectors just in case you ever want to run E85

That set up looks pretty good. The stock maf will still be fine at that point.

Once you have everything to monitor and datalog why don't you tune it? You have time before all those parts come in to do a lot of reading and research on tuning with the dsm link. if you get the dsm link first, you can start with a near stock tune and then do slow adjustment until you have a feel for it and then can do adjustments as more parts come in.

External wastegate it

Dsm Link v2 or v3
That's good

780 or 880 inj
I'd go bigger personally, maybe 1050s, bigger if you're going to run E85

Walbro 255
Should get you where you need to go, might need to go bigger if your power goals go up

AEM wideband
I hate mine. I'd get LC-1 Lambda Cable with 02 Sensor : Wideband Controller Cable for Dyno, ECU, Data Acquisition, or Gauge Applications instead

Is Stock Maf alright?
It is OK, but I'd convert to GM MAS w/ the DSMLink personally

You also need an AFPR to go along with that fuel pump.

I don't know man. I feel like i would F*** my S*** up!!!:aha:

There is a ton of info out there to help you, not to mention sites like this. Everything is done in small steps. Check out dsmlinks site. This way no matter what mods you do to your car you can make adjustments to optimize any new parts and not have to have the car retuned by anyone else. If you start now you won't be changing too much especially with still haveing a stock turbo:thumb:

Sounds like you have a boost leak for sure. Check Boostpro.com. The owner is great and the product is awesome.... inexpensive too!

Also guys i dont know if the timing belts has ever been replaced. How muhc longer should i push that off for?

It causes major engine damage if it breaks - you don't want to push that at all. Here's some links for what you'll need to do a timing belt yourself:

4G63T Timing Kit Package 3Turbo Engines 1995 thru 1999
4G63 4G63T Accessory Belt Package

And this will make life a lot easier:

Before you buy anything, read through this:
Timing Belt VFAQ
and make sure you're up for the job - it's not something you want to do if you don't feel completely comfortable doing it.

do not put that off for long at all, it just takes one thing and you are looking at a rebuilt head.
