Well lately the clutch has been feeling mostly normal. however once ina while it seems like it chatters in first gear. So last night i go to the pool hall, the car sat for about 2 hours, i come back out and push the clutch all the way to the floor and i couldnt get it into gear. i cant get the car to shift into any gear no matter what i do. its the stock clutch/tranny with 80k on it. when the car is off it shifts fine, the pressure on the pedal feels fine. where should i start?

Check to see if all of your bellhousing bolts are in place. If a few start to come out your transmission will seperate from your block when the clutch pedal is depressed. It would cause similar problems as to what you are describing.

If thats tight, check out your master/slave cylinder to make sure they are in good condition. Have someone depress the clutch while you are under the car to verify that the clutch rod moves the clutch fork all the way.

If those check out, then you may be looking at a clutch job in the future.

Yeah, good suggestions so far. My bet is one of the cylinders or your clutch fork. Could be tons of things though.
