Can you swap alternators from a dodge neon to a dodge intrepid?

I have a failing alternator on my dodge intrepid, i have a friend who has a dodge neon. I was wondering if i can use the alternator from his car and put it on mine. Or any other alternator from dodge models? It would be way cheaper if it was possible

No. The intrepid 300 design motors was an abomination of rear wheel drive layout engine with a front wheel drive transmission. You should sell the intrepid for scrap

A What year intrepid?
B if its 98+ You can use any concorde, 300, or LHS using the horrific 2.7 or 3.5 IIRC.
C. I do not believe a transverse mounted alternator from a neon will work or even remotely line up.

To this day I do not understand what dodge ever saw in that horrid engine, much less to cling hopelessly to it after admitting several design flaws and refusing to cover any or recall the defects. I get them at work faster then we can crush them. 4+ a month a least.

Yeah Imagine my surprise when a 2013 avenger came in with 3000 miles on it and the batteries annihilated behind the drivers side headlight. I just don't understand why they stuck to such archaic designs, especially knowing that they're flawed. Hands down more Chrysler product comes into the yard then anything else, honda/acura is a close second.
