I was wondering if it was possible to use an evo 8 stock FPR on a 2g. I was also wondering if i can use it will it be able to handle the 255 without being overrun. I think it would be a cheap alternative to a areomotive or such as my friend said he will give me his off his evo for free since he upgraded.

It is possible my friend did it with his 91 gsx....we have had no problems with it yet. :thumb:

What other mods does your friend have? mainly fuel mods. Also what kind of power is he putting down? Does he have any logs to show its not running rich?

Maybe you're supposed to ask via PM though. The rules aren't very specific.

You got balls asking for rep. points with a half ass answer like that ROFL , rep. points should only be given on factual information that can be backed up so how about answering missouri_dsm's questions and show us that you truly deserve the points you're asking? Does your friend have a fuel gauge? If so, what was the fuel pressure reading at idle?

I don't see how a stock FPR out of a evo 8 can work properly on a 1g or 2g as their are differences between the 1g and 2g.

what is the fuel pressure on a evo8 anyways?

I wouldn't DD my car with a evo 8 FPR, thats for sure.

I'll wait till I see some logs, and actual proof that it is better then my stock FPR.

what if the fuel pressure is higher on a evo 8?

Wont there be too much fuel pressure in my fuel rail?

How did your friend do it....is it a bolt on affair or was their modification done to the rail?

The Evo 8 has a voltage regulator for the fuel pump that helps control the fuel pump. The reason EVO's don't have as many issues or any at all with Walbro 255 installs is because the ecu in a EVO drops the voltage to the pump at lower RPM's that would help with the rich condition many of us experience in regular DSM's. It's a nice feature with the EVO's. The stock FPR on a EVO is just a part of the equation with the ecu voltage regulator completing it. IMHO, I don't think the stock EVO FPR alone will do you much good as the ecu plays a huge part in the fuel system in an EVO.
