Can someone tell me just what happened

I don't want to just jump to the crankwalk theory but I'm leaving towards it... right now I'm stuck on the side of the highway with my car having really bad symptoms.

Idle drops when clutch is pushed in

Ticking noise over 3k rpms

Car wont die if revd. At idle

No clue on boost leaks I already retightened everything. Remember I'm on the side of a highway.

Can you check where the sound is coming from?.

If it is from the Harmony pulley, then.

Wow im so depressed now.... this sucks. It does have play I can here it when I move the balancer back and forth..

it could be a bad balancer. Its really hard to move the crank while in the engine without a crow bar. Is any of the rubber separating from the balancer? Can you torque/rotate the balance if so its a bad balancer.

No I cant I can just hear the sound of two surfaces with some type of sticky or watery substance seperating when I pull on it vigorsly.

Also it starts clacking after 2000 rpms now since the first post.

not to jack this guys thread but its not that hard to move the crank on some motors, on a friends 2.3 with a .020 cut crank we can move his crank by hand .010", been that way since we asembeld the motor 5 yrs ago, 5 yrs later and hundreds of 11.2 passes and over 20000mi its still the same.never understood it

End play isn't bad if it's within spec. Only way to be sure is to drop the bottom end and see the carnage. Goodluck man.
