can i tune effectively with this setup?

I have an SAFC installed and i just ordered a palm and the pocketlogger cable/software. only gauge i have right now is boost gauge. will i be able to tune with this, or do i HAVE to have a air/fuel or EGT?

In a 1G, you would be fine. As far as I am aware, no 2G logger diplays knock. If you can interpret knock through your timing, that is all you need. Do a bit more reading before you start to tinker with your car.

a wideband would be a good idea. you can get them as low as $300 these days.

The pocketlogger is the best thing to tune with. A blinky air/fuel gauge is USELESS, and an egt gauge isn't necessary also in my opinion. Although there are some heated discussions about this if you search for the threads. And egt gauge is just an oh crap, my timing is getting pulled gauge. To really TUNE by, you will use the logger.

i'd say a wideband is more valuable than a logger but a logger is great as well.
