Can I Trust This Ebay Muffler?

The worst that could happen is it will rust or have some fitment issues that could be easily remedied

A muffler is a muffler. The only issues that may arise are build quality (fitment, material and sound deadening). Other than that, it's cheap so give it a shot. If it doesn't work out then get yourself a dual tip 3" Magnaflow muffler :thumb:

i have an ebay muffler similar to it, it started rusting a little bit around the edges, did not like the sound at all NA, but once i got my turbo on, sounds great LOL

Step up to a 50 ~ 70$ ebay n1 style muffler and you get much better quality. The one on my neon lasted 3 years (before i got rid of it, no rust) and actually 3" all the way through.

On your non-turbo, it's probably going to "buzz" at certain RPMs. I had two round, straight-thru mufflers on my '97 GS, both of which buzzed close to 3800rpms, before finding an oval 5Zigen axle-back on eBay that I won for literally 99 cents plus $50 shipping.

I've seen nothing like it since; direct-fit, oval muffler with a round tip that is just under 4" O.D. Very smooth, mellow sound....many that ride in my car for the first time ask if it's a turbo car based on the low-RPM exhaust note.

I don't have many pics of the car from behind, so this will have to do:

will probably sound crappy seeing its n/t.

the muffler itself will do just fine. I have an egay 3" catback and works as expected for $100. Has some fitment issues (need to get the car in the air as when its warm it vibrates somewhere against the frame) but for $100 cant really complain too much.

I ran a muffler very similiar to that on one of my first tsi's for almost three years. Held up great sounded awesome, I got complimants from dsm guys that had 600hp cars and had been in the game a long time. I sold the car to a buddy over two years ago and its still like new.

It will work fine,it has a silencer with it, that will cut down the sound if you dont like it.The tip might stick out farther then you will like. I had a cheap can that looked like it was off ebay,4" tip,2 1/2 inlet,or maybe it was 3", can remember, It sounded good driving, idle, But accelerating was kinda lound but not raspy, This was on my spyder n/t. 28 bucks, you might as well. Im still deciding if i want to take off my stock dual tip on my 1g,and put my carbon fiber tsunami on it. If you do put it on, weld it,dont just use clamps.

i had a ebay muffler on my last car. It lasted 6 months then all the packing burned out and started to come out.
