Can I swap the gears from FWD to AWD tranny?

So my 94 AWD tranny is in pretty bad shape (synchros), and I have a 90 FWD GST parts car with a much better transmission.

Basically I was wondering if I'd be able to just swap over the whole gearset from the 1990 FWD tranny to the 1994 AWD tranny, rather than buying a whole new tranny.

Thanks

No you will not be able to do that. They are quite a bit different.

thanks for the response. Im just going to buy a tranny from a good member, then maybe tink around with fixing the old one :p

and I don't know if I'm qualified to swap gears. Never been in a tranny before. But I've rebuilt my bottom end completely. Trannys are something I think I'd rather leave to a pro though
