Hi guys,

I am trying to figure out how to get my 1990 Talon TSi into the 12s and was looking for something that I have maybe missed and leave it to you to show me if I am dumbass with something in my buildup. I just got back from the track on Friday night and ran a [email protected] MPH with my car.
Here are my mods so far:
RC Engineering 550cc Injectors
EVO 3 16G (ported)
EVO 3 Manifold(ported)
EVO 3 O2 Housing(ported)
Buschur Racing 2.5" DP, High Flow Cat, Catback
2G MAS
Supra SMIC
Buschur Upper and Lower IC pipes
Greddy Type-RS BOV(recirculated)
M300 PLX wideband
SPEC Stage 3 Clutch
SPEC 5.7 LB Flywheel

The car spools up quick as heck, pulls hard and runs A/F Ratios at a rock steady 11.1 under full boost(20 psi). But a guy with a 14B and no other mods but a fuel pump and clutch ran a 12.9@107. I figure I must be doing something wrong because I have yet to go over 100.86 trap speed. Any ideas? I have been drag racing for years and so I figure I don't totally suck as a driver, so, taking that part out of the equation what else might it be? Any ideas would be appreciated and thanks in advance for your help!
 
I have an SAFCII I have not installed yet, only because the air/fuel ratios seemed really good? I was also thinking maybe vacuum lines somewhere being that the car is 17 years old, could have a pinhole somewhere, I haven't owned this car long enough to know what hoses are essential and which ones could say be omitted. Can I find that information somehwere with maybe a diagram? Thanks for the help gang!

Doesn't that just kill you? I HATE HATE HATE those guys. I've spent stupid money on my car to go that fast and these guys do it with a boost control and an exhaust.:mad: :mad:


What were your 60ft's? Have you dyno'd it yet? Do you know if its putting down numbers that are consistant with your mods? A/F ratios aren't everything.
 
60' times are 1.7-1.8. I don't have an AWD dyno here in the area, so I may have to drive to Buschur's. If I do that though I am going to get EMS put in while I am there so I have been holding off because I know I will spend that $2000 on the system and tuning. True the A/F ratios aren't everything, do you guys think it is running a tad rich? I was thinking of moving it more towards 11.6-11.7, the only thing I don't like is that at the moment I have no timing adjustments, what do you guys think?
 
I do not understand how you can be running 550cc injectors with the factory fuel maps but be running a constant 11.1:1 A/F ratio. I would think you would be running rich as hell. Is your tailpipe covered in soot?

Some of the cheapest mods I made that still improved performance were my test pipe and cold air box for my air filter. Do a search and give those two ideas a shot. At least you won’t be out a lot of money.
