I really need to stay off the cops radar because I cant afford to get a REF Ticket right now.

My question is can a Mits Evo Muffler fit 1990 awd talon?

Exhaust shops bye me wont even try to sell me a generic OE style Muffler.
I tried a Turbo style Muffler with a magnaflow 14-length 4-inch round muffler/resonator and no CAT, It help alot, But I still get woried.

I thought California check's emissions annually? Any way any muffler can fit on anything with some pipe, hangar and a few beads of weld. Evo,Ferrari,Lambo, W/E muffler will fit. The fart cans they sell @ muffler shops sound like a clown farting on a snare drum. Most of them do I would spend a little more and buy an Ebay cat back.

I've got ticketed for an ebay cat-back in WA and I am sure they are more strict in CA.

Depends on what evo it came off. I have an evo 8 exhaust here at the house and it will not mount up to a 2g or a 1g the exhaust enters the side of the muffler on the evo8. I might how ever use the evo cat on my 2g.

Just run a silencer in your aftermarket muffler. You should be good as long as its not loud. At least here you would be. But no, the EVO muffler will not bolt right up.

yeah but most cops bother us about the loudness of our exhaust. a smog tech that i work with said that it dont matter what kind of exhaust you put on after the cat. it can still pass smog. you just need a cat. i think the legal sound decibel in CA is 95 db. hope this helps.

Im sure you can make anything fit with a saw and a welder, but why an Evo muffler, not something else....better????

Well I am sorry you guys have to get stopped by your states fine civil servants for your exhaust note. My buddy has an evo VIII so I went and bothered him to see his stock exhaust, Its not the smallest thing I have ever seen but it still appears that it may fit in your space. You may have run an additional muffler to accompany the evo can to keep the police away. I really feel sorry for you guys. I run full three inch all the way back no cat. I also have an atmos dumping o2 housing. The police in my area just do not care about the little 4 bangers. They go after the big block nova's etc etc etc. We have inspection one time. Granted its one of the most difficult in the U.S.A but its one time. We do not get emissions testing @ any point as well. I run the tsudo ETS series on my DD and its very quiet. Even with no cat its still not very harsh at all even under wide open conditions.

98.5 decibels I believe.

It is 95db, and just buy a vibrant muffler that looks stock, add a resonator, and your golden. Its not that hard its just an exhaust, if you like the way a fart can looks on your car then by all means run it I suppose but cops will still get you. I live in CA as well and they're looking for more of a fart can style muffler on your car, not too much on sound. Also, turbo cars aren't even that loud to begin with compared to a v8..
