Well you can really call me a newbie. Im just about ready to put my engine into my engine bay, I had like an half an hour to kill, so I went to the garage to mess with my engine. I found that I forgot some bolts (yeah pretty dumb) So I took off my clutch and tried to take off my Flywheel. Sense the bolts were already torqued, when I tried to break the bolts loose my engine turned. So my dumb A$$ decided to put a bolt in the cam gear so that the engine would not turn over. Well needless to say I broke my cam gear on the intake side. So now I have to start taking everything off to get to my timing tensioner and do the whole timing again. Now that you heard my story heres my question. I want to keep the engine as close to stock as possible but I am willing to ad a little bit of horses. So should I just get OEM cam gears, or should I get some after market cam shafts and cam gears, and if I go after market what would add some horses but not be too aggressive. Any information I receive would be great, I have done some research on this topic but I could not find the information that I need. Thats why I want to ask all you DSM wisemen.

If you want to keep the engine stock then save your money and buy a stock cam gear off someone here for a few bucks. The money spent on cams and such would be better spent on a turbo upgrade or some other part that may be lacking in performance

True what he say. Keep stock cams if your on a stock turrbo. Any after market camshalf will give you power no matter what.
I like the fp1 fp2 for smaller turbo. The fp gives more top end. They aren't. Aggressive at all too. My friend has some installed and it made a lot of whp difference. It also has good top end power. But those cams runs about 400 something. Upgrade the turbo then one step at a time. Stock gears too. Hope this helps
