Okay your stupid for not even mentioning if you have a 7bolt or 6bolt. Newb terms, 6bolt means less chance of walking 7bolt means big chance of walking, espically on a 2g.

ok well Ill call you stupid for not say what year...but the 7 bolt is lighter and makes more hp stock than the 6 bolt. The head, cams and turbo flow better on the 6 bolt. If you get a 6 bolt with 2g pistons 1g head and cams that would be the ultimate dsm engine.

how about a 6bolt with forged pistons? and rods, what other mods are major for lets say 500hp

You may get more help if you disclose some info about your car. You have a Tsi..but what year is it. Who knows you may already have a 6bolt in it.

List what type of car you have.
Year/Make/Model

Then please be specific as to what your asking about "whats the diff".

That explains crankwalk.

You can get a 6bolt motor out of an earlier model first gen (pre-93 I think). This isn't going to just drop in and work fine there are a couple small things you will have to do. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/2g6boltmotorinstall.htm

Read those if you want to know how to do it yourself tho.

Reasons people install a 6bolt in a 2g?
#1 - more turbo options since it uses a 14b and more just "dropin turbos"
#2 - Better flowing head (if your not porting either)
#3 - 99.4% of them DO NOT CRANKWALK

Thats the only 3 I can think of at the moment.

is there any place were i can just buy these engines ready to drop in!, and can sumone please explain crankwalk, or i should probably just go to search eh?

there are alot of places that sell the engine you can just "drop in" if by that you mean the complete engine, of course this will run you quite a bit of money unless you know people. as far as informing you on crankwalk use the search. trust me you will find enough info about it through the threads on here there are already so many.

Why is everybody calling him stupid?

He said call him "Stupid butt". :D

Hey stupid butt, is there something wrong with your 7 bolt? Or are you just wanting to build a bullet proof engine to start?

I explained to you where to get the 6bolt motor from, I also showed you what crankwalk was and showed you how to even swap the engine into the car with the information I posted.

 If you're going to help the guy out, at least give him REAL information.

All it refers to is the amount of bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. Quite a few 7bolt engines have experienced "crankwalk" (excessive crankshaft thrust). THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR CAR will GET IT.

If you are serious about getting power out of your car, your best bet will be to get a 6bolt engine and start from there, as it has been proven to be a sturdier design.

I think it's the 2nd week of May 1992 for the manufacture date if I remember right.
