Stupid question but...

I was wondering if it was possible to put an aftermarker BOV on with the stock SMIC? I'm not up to date on all the turbo performance, considering I don't even have my turbo car yet, but when I get it, I want to know what mods I could do to it. I want a BOV but cant afford a FMIC. Couldn't I just change the piping?

I would follow The Tuning Guide as far as upgrades go. An aftermarket BOV is definitely not one of the first things you need to worry about, unless you have a 2G and are stuck with the stock plastic one. The BOV bolts onto the IC Piping, not the IC itself, so yes you can get an aftermarket BOV, but you will need a flange on the pipe that will let you bolt it on.

Maybe you'll get flamed for asking that kind of question but yes, you can! I have an Hks Ssqv with my stock side mount ic . But it's not worth it to put an aftermarket bov on a stock dsm, the stock 1g bov is very potent!

You can do it and yes, you should look at other modifications before the bov....like getting a car with a turbo first. Your car says N/T and your profile is blank.
