Calendar In Progress... UPDATED!!!!!

You do bring up a good point. It's kinda hard to believe that people buy 800-1000$ turbos 400$ exhaust manifolds, and with the way gas prices are nowadays, 28$ just might get you a full tank of guys that will only last a few days, whereas a calender will last us so much longer. I hope you continue the project, I'd sure as hell would buy one!
 
I say do it, but becuase of this price increase take the money before you get them made. I would not have a problem with paying first that way you won't get shafted with taking a loss if nobody ends up buying these things.
 
Dude, you could charge anything you want. It's called a monopoly. There's no other DSM calendar out there so people are gonna pay pretty much anything to get one.

*Disclaimer* I don't suggest you do this however. :D

While it's noble of you guys to think that most would willingly shell out $25+ for a calendar (I personally would, but...), I think you'll find that many will not. I believe that you could sell more of them if you made it 12 months in order to bring it in at a lower cost. Just my opinion, though-- I will buy one no matter what (well, pretty much). ;)
 
i will definitly be purchasing at least 2. Maybe even 3 :D
 
I say just do a 12 month calander for 05. By the time they are done and shipping it will be mid of 04 anyway so waiting 6 months to hang it is no big deal.

I'm sure lots of these could be sold easily by that date.

Finishing it and having it shipped out by July will not be a hard task for me I don't think. Once I get the pics selected in the size I want and bring it to the place and it will take 3 days to get done from there.
I'll have it done pretty once I get the pics sorted out.

i dunno if i can afford $25 all at once so can i buy 1 month at a time or mabey just the months i need?

somthing like this can be costly expecially for a specific/small group of people and not the genereal public in mass quanities going to wal marts and large book stores.


also if what about getting specs or any mods done to the car on the page like in a corner or somthing? or any lil background info on the car or person.
 
Personally, I say why not make it just a 12 month calendar. The 2005 calendars ought to be in stores in a month or two, if they aren't already - so doing it as a full '05 calendar wouldnt' make too much of a difference in market terms.
 
i know you said to comment on the take off list..but im not sure if anyone mentioned SIGNAL? he is by far one of top cars on this forum..his car was used for the dsmtuners shirts and is on the top of our homepage..

True.
But honestly I would rather do that many months calendar that way I could get it shipped out for under 20 bucks shipped and not run into a problem at all. The way I'm going right now with the company I'm not loving the price at all and without 300 sold I cant get a bigass discount on them so I'm stuck selling one by one. I would actually love to make it 12 months but also keep in mind I don't think people would be half as happy with only 12 months.

You also have to look at the lineup I'm looking at already.
4 Black cars and then take on another one and breakdown the 5 would be dam near impossible.

See the second post on page 2 of this thread. He has already addressed the issue of adding more cars. Your not helping by adding people to the list. Besides, Signal does have a nice car but I don't see anything that sets him apart from people like DSMJIM or Redturboeclipse. There are a lot of nice cars on this site, way more than 18, but only 26 made the cut for this calendar. As for the rest there is always next year.

I've requested high res pics from everyone. Anyone that has been considered for a spot in the calendar should have already emailed me high res pictures. I'm only waiting till this friday before I close all options of people what-so-ever as far as whos getting into the final voting of it.

As far as 26 making the cut? I have no clue where the "26" came from I posted I had 26 people to breakdown to 18 but truly the 18 may get torn down to 12 really soon.

You have 26 people listed on the first page of this thread. I did not mean that you had 26 people chosen I just meant that there were 26 cars to choose from.

I hope you enjoy the high res pics. I actually had missed this thread. So, whomever nominated me, thanks....for I am truely flattered.

I cant wait for the calendar to come out. I will definitely purchase a few for $25.00 or $28.00 a piece.

Be sure to let the world know which cars are picked for the first DSM Calendar (first to my knowledge).
