CAI questions

me n my friend(got all the stuff for free, he owns a tuner shop) made a cai for my 97 n/t. we got everything on and put the filter on, but i think the filter is too big, what do you think? when it is idling and i stomp on the gas evey now n then just for a split second it sputers then recovers and revs, and when i get past 5500 rpm it make a sound liek a turbo blow off. i actually had a guy ask if it was turbocharged, it might be nothing, but im just curious, a guy told me too big of a filter will do this? sounds liek bullshit to me. but ill post n as anyway thanks for your help

im assuming the sputter didn't occur when you had the factory air box?

well there is less stuff muffleing the sound of the throttle body. if im cruising at 4k rpms, and i shift. if i let go of the peddle enough so that the rpms dont drop, when i let the clutch go in the next gear and pound the peddle it sorta sounds like a BOV. the TB opening abruptly makes a big whoooshing sound. its normal. as for the sputtering, i dunno.
