C- Clip???

Alright friends. Im in the process of rebuilding my 4g63t and there is a huge c-clip or snap ring that I have no idea where it goes. A little back story. I just bought my 91 TSi and the motor was all in a box. Building with trial and error.

Turbo? how big is huge?

is it internal or external? take a measurement of it.

4 and 1/16. Its kinda dingy so id say its an external. I never thought about it being a turbo clip. The car didnt come with one.

I would guess clip for the compressor housing as well but I dont have one in front of me to measure.

It's probably the clip that holds the compressor housing on to the center cartridge of the turbo. 4 and 1/16 sounds about right.
