Ok here's his ad, is it a good deal?

"Hi.
I have a 1992 Eagle talon all wheel drive turbo for sale...This car is white with 2 silver front fenders and hood cause we had to replace them with new ones...But this car has alot of new parts on it...it has a ported and polished head..it has new gaskets...new valves..its got a brand new tdh05 Garrett turbo that was 700.00...the only thing wrong with it is the turbo needs to be put back on it..and i dont have time to do it i just purchased a new car and have no time to mess with this one...if someone wants to buy it the sale price is $1,200......"

Ok, I know nothing about mechanics at all! .. I asked him if it ran and he said yes but you can't drive in it cause the manifold hooks up to the turbo or something. Is that BS? Cause I don't wanna buy it if it doesn't run. :thumb:

Are you near the car to go see it? If so you can still start it just to make sure but don't let it run long. The turbo is pretty easy to put on, you could probably do it yourself. Just go see the car if you can that's your best option. Yes the turbo does hook to the manifold but you when it's not under boost the engine just sucks air in instead of air being forced into it so it doesn't need the turbo to start.

Yea I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Can you please give me some info about the turbo? Did he really pay $700 for it? I tried looking it up and found nothing about it? Is it any good? and is the price for the car ok? and is there a manual or something I can find for this car so I can install a turbo.

And if its that easy.. something seems wrong cause he said he bought a new car and he is selling the talon cause he doesn't have time to mess with it.

It could be an 18G turbo and that would be at least 700. Here is what you need to do. Look at the compressor wheel on the turbo. If the fins are two different heights and alternate tall short tall short then it's a 16G or 18G if they are all the same height then it's just the stock 14B. I doubt it's a 14B because of the price of it. Also make sure it spins very freely. Just spin it lightly with ## finger. Let us know what you find out tomorrow. Yes there is books. Go to auto zone or advance auto and buy a chilton's or haynes repair manual. Has just about everything you will ever need to know. Also there is a website that shows how to do anything you will ever need to want to do. Here is the link:

Good luck and let us know.

I'm retarded I don't know anything can anybody explain to me in "retard" form what the diffrence a 14, 16, 18 is?

Hmm.. I don't think its a 18g cause I looked it up.. and all the prices for a "upgrade kit" are like 1,700-2,500 dollars.

Where in missouri are you located? I can't seem to figure out where that AFB is. I'll be coming out there over new year's and i might be able to meet up with you and help you out with some stuff. I will be in Lee's Summit.

You wouldn't need a kit, just the turbo. The kits are for the non-turbo cars.

"I will be in Lee's Summit"

I live 50 miles south from lee's summit, Its inbetween warrenburg/sedalia.

Ahh i see, i'm not sure b/c i'm goin to my g/f's house and that is where she lives so i won't have any transportation except through her and i doubt she will wanna take me somewhere so i can mess with cars some more. I get in enough trouble for that already. But we'll see.

well the car is worth$1200 bucks if it does indeed run! being a 92 it has the 4 bolt rear, and if its an early 92 then it would have the 6bolt motor. you can get $400 for the rear, at least a $1000 for the motor. and $300 for the tranny so its deffinately worth the $, turbos are easy to put on! don't be scared it can only go on one way! just take your time and get a chiltons or haynes manual and read it!!
