Running an errand tonight and just as I got of the freeway I saw steam coming from under the hood. Temperature was way hot! and I pulled off asap. Open the hood and I see that the top radiator hose was undone. Closer inspection showed that the last inch of plastic pipe on the radiator with the lip shattered into a bunch of pieces. Anyone have this happen to them with the plastic stocker radiator?

I was able to reconnect the pipe and limp home at least!!!

I want to find a replacement that will fit like OEM and work with the factory fans. Also it MUST be all aluminum! No more exploding plastic pipes for me. Any recommendation? Koyo, Fluidyne are the best known two. Spearco seems to pricey. Mishimoto I've never heard of before, but they seem nice and are cheaper.

Has not happened to me but it is becoming a problem on many of the 2g DSMs because of the age they are getting to. So anyone else reading this, if you take off your top radiator hose and it looks pale/white. Replace immediately.

Really depends on how much room you have for one. Here is a list of depths:
  • Koyo 53mm
  • Fluidyne 38mm
  • Mishimoto 40mm

I have yet to get a stock size for comparing. But it looks to be that you can fit any of the 3.

And from what I have read, the Mishimoto one can not use stock fans as it has different mounting locations.
