I am about to upgrade to a fluidyne radiator to keep these summertime temps down, and so I have the hopes of possibly using the AC with this FMIC already installed on the car, however Id like to go ahead and replace the radiator hoses while I'm at it, as I believe they are the original ones and should be due for a replacement. Id rather not go back with OEM hoses, but instead would like some sort of aftermarket replacement, perhaps silicone. I have looked on ebay and all they have are blue or red silicone hoses etc, which I really dont want in my engine bay. Does anyone know of any other viable options or places to go for nicer than OEM hoses? I'm not so sure I like the greddy braided hoses.

In my opinion the aftermarket hoses aren't worth the money. The Greddy ones are like $70, it most likely cost $20 max to make them.
I say just get some OEM replacements from Autozone, NAPA/UAP, Pep Boys, Advanced, etc.

More like 130 bucks at the cheapest that Ive seen. I wanted to run higher than normal pressures and know that the system would pretty much never fail on me. Silicone hoses would likely last the rest of the life of the car so I figured why not just spend 20 bucks more and pick up a set of them. OEM replacements are going to run me 30 bucks anyway.

Check around to see if anyone is still making the actual "hard pipe" radiator hoses. Like a lot of the supra guys use.

Basically it's like a 2" I/C pipe with silicone Couplers that replace your Radiator hose's.

I've been trying to get my friend to make me up some Polished ones. (he used to make them about 2 years ago but stopped due to lack of interest)

As for flex of the motor it usess the couplers to provide the flex to compensate for the torque of the motor.

Just get new oem ones if anything. A nicer looking hose isn't going to give you any gains .. hell a new oem hose won't do anything. You don't really need to replace them until your old ones start leaking imo.

You're retarded. Its something called preventive maintenance, perhaps you havent heard of it. If I am already swapping out the radiator, and my hoses are 80k miles old, why the hell would I hold off and not replace them just because they arent leaking? That is just stupid to do. You're saying I should wait until the day I am stranded on the road before I wake up and realize that it isnt just the oil of the car that needs to be changed on occassion to keep the car from breaking down? Give me a break and get off the DSM "dont do anything but straight line performance" high horse. I'm not looking for a ricer dressed up engine bay, hence the reason I created this thread, as Id like to see if I cant find any black or grey silicone hoses, something that isnt so conspicuous. OEM hoses run me 22 bucks, and they still have the potential to fail down the road, why not just spend 15 bucks more and have a nicer looking and virtually lifelong hose? Its not about performance gains, so if those are the ignorant comments you wish to make please make them in another thread.

As for the other hoses that you guys found, 98 dollars seems like an awful lot as well. Silicone hoses just like those on ebay are 40 bucks, however they just dont come in any colors but red, blue, and I believe yellow, which I refuse to get. I appreciate the help though. Any others you guys can find or know about?

OEM hoses are MORE than perfect for anyone thats ever modded a DSM. Silicone simply isn't needed.
