so i thought that my slave cylinder was messed up, so i got a new one and went to put it on my car and i realized that my clutch engagement tab, that comes out of my transmission is putting absolutely no pressure against my slave cylinder rod

instead of it being pushing against the slave cylinder rod, it just sits all the way to the left as it would if the slave was pushing against it

please help!

Gaah! It sounds like something is amiss with your throw out bearing, clutch plate, or clutch disc. Were you having any problems with your clutch before this came up? Slipping, etc?

PS. Worst case would be crankwalk where the entire crank and flywheel assembly is moving back and forth. You might want to try checking your crank pulley for any fore/aft play.

yes.
when i would try to accelerate hard in first gear, i was having quite a bit of clutch slipping.
also sometimes when i would be pushing my car hard and would be at around 5-6k rpms i would lose all power to my wheels for a second then it would snap back in really hard and jolt my whole car foward

The clutch fork should have some free play. If you remove the slave you should be able to wiggle the fork side to side about 1/2".
