Now could i get my hopes up that is my turbo going? it whines and has over 193,000 miles on it. I was racing another members 3rd gen Eclipse V6 auto with a cat-back, and a cold air intake(the same night). which from a few dead stops an a few more rolls i was putting a hurting on him LOL his girl freind even said she wants a new car now LOL

not that i don't street race once in awhile, but this site doesnt condone street racing and you would probably get more replies on topic if you edit that last part out. as far as your car you need to compression test the motor and go from there. let us know your engines compression outcome.

193,000 on a turbo is amazing to me LOL But maybe if you keep it at stock boost and just putt around i guess LOL.Have you checked the turbo for any shaft play.or check your ic piping for oil?Id check the turbo and all while your waiting to do the compression test.If you have no oil in your ic piping or shaft play then you will half to do the compression test asap.Could be a few things but without the compression test no one can diagnose what it is if your turbo don't have shaft play.

yea i'll have to check it I dont put very many miles on the car at all maybe 500 miles last month i go to an from work an its almost 20 total their an back. and Iam runnin 16psi. O and when I do get on it i have watched the boost gauge an I reach full boost in first an it holds 2nd it'll spike to 16-17 then drop off as soon as it reaches full boost an I have seen as low as 13psi an third will stay strong at 16psi... Now Iam sure i have boost leaks but I get this HORRIBLE whine from the turbo at full boost....
