So my car spits some delicious blue smoke when i get on it. and sometimes smokes at idle.
My compression is 160-170-170-170. bottom end was just rebuilt. head is stock.
this is my third turbo that i have just swapped out thinkg that the turbos were smoking. i currently have a 14b on it that i rebuilt myself. my first rebuild so it is possible it isnt perfect.

my questions is, is there any way the car can burn oil from the motor with good compression? or is the only option something to do with the turbo? where else could the problem be?

Usually to check and see if a turbo has bad seals, you would pull off the lower intercooler pipe. If there is an excessive amount of oil sitting in the pipe and intercooler you have a bad turbo.
Other causes of burning oil are bad valve seals and bad rings. Also, a bad pcv will cause you to burn oil.
Start with the easy things. Replace the pcv valve with a brand new OEM piece. Make sure you test the valve before you buy it. You're looking to see if the ball inside is able to move freely. After that, pull off the lower intercooler pipe and check for an excessive amount of oil. If you're still experiencing the same problem, then run a leakdown test to check the rings and valves.

Since it sounds like you've gone thru a couple bad turbos, did you pour all the oil out of your intercooler yet? I had almost a quart in mine after my 14b died. Pour all it out, put some gasoline in it, cap off the ends and shake it up to give it a good cleaning.

i do think i may have to clean the ic. there was a decent amount of oil in the ic pipes when i pulled the bad 14b off.

is it possible for anything in the motor to be bad with good compression? reason being i hate my car right now and the last thing i want to do is put a head together.
