Basically, the car started burning oil, but in a weird way. Not from the turbo. Not bad valves (never burnt on start-up no matter how long it sat)

Would only burn oil after idleing really low for at least 30 seconds and never being revved... then LOTS of burnt oil from exhaust....

SOOO... today I opened the hood and replaced the "filter" that I 'custom' installed between the crank case hose and intake... you know the re-circulating crap. A lot of oil was going through that hose back into the intake, and i read here on the site to put a filter or whatever there...

My old clear filter from a few months ago... completely brown/black... took it off... couldn't even blow through it with my mouth... (i know grose huh)

Anyways, with the new filter, the car doesn't ever smoke anymore.... SO I can't believe a clogged filter was creating a SHIT load of crank case pressure and caused it to just start blowing out blue oil smoke like that, I mean clouds and clouds and clouds....

Just thought I would add some follow up to an old topic in case anyone else has this very very strange problem... (btw - i'm sure not all of my symptoms are gone yet, you know how these cars are... LOL)

Thanks for everyone's help!!
Sean

Check your PCV valve also for oil/gumming.

It may be about time for you to install a couple catch cans... Or make checking the inline filters part of your scheduled maintenance.

Yep. I had the same fuel filter catch can setup on my car, after a few months of it being on i kept blowing my dipstick. I could barely blow through the filter, so i just ran a straight hose again and I never pop that dipstick anymore.
