Sorry guys, there is no such thing as a bullit proof motor. If you don't have any idea about how to tune, you can blow a motor with the best parts money can buy. Nothing can withstand extreme temps and knock for too long.

If you tune right, it will stay together for the power levels most will aquire. My stock motor was re-assembled with 2 g pistons and took dyno proven 480whp and 9000rpm all day at the track and was driven everyday until I got sick of not having AC. Should have never removed it. By the way I used the SCM61 and I highly recomend it. good luck with your build up, there is capability of making big power woth the set-up.

How much boost were you running to make 480 whp? What was the compression on your motor? At what rpm in 3rd gear lets say did you hit full boost? Sorry ... ust trying to compare.

I made 480 whp on 27psi, c-16, @7200rpm, 8.5:1 compression with the stock 2g pistons. The curve was still climbing, but being my daily driver, I backed out. I always bounced it off 9000rpm at the track, but a dyno just is so abusive. 3rd gear made full boost at around 4000rpm, with a ported head and magnus manifold. You can see the mods under one of the pics in my gallery.

I'm sorry, please point me to where the rules are on time limits? I guess there is one that says you can not respond to an old post.

I feel special. My original post is brought back from the dead. While its back up here, i might as well add that my car is complete and going to the dyno next monday. I ended up with the AGP 50 trim kit, built bottem end like i said, built head with comp race cams, SI/Manleys, SS valves, & Vicron seals. I have the forrester manifold with the Slowboy racing FMIC kit and tial bov. I now have the AEM EMS running speed density on a GM 3 bar map and air intake temp sensor with a LM1 innovate motorsports wideband o2 kit. I got 780s in it and also a fluidyne radiator. I found some Rota slipstreams in gunmetal with dunlop sp 9000's tires for 200 bucks also. I will be running PUMP GAS ONLY for now and hopefully i can pull some decnt numbers especially with the AEM. Ill post back up with more info when it gets tuned.
