Okay I’ve been looking around for a direct fully built longblock to bolt into my 95 Tsi. So far prices for a fully built longblock are around $5,000+ with everything which I pretty much figured I would have to spend. Just the other day I came across a web site Kar King and they have fully built 2.4L 4G63/64 Longblocks for $1,800 http://www.karking.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=188
This price seems almost too good to be true. Like the saying goes. Now I’m just wondering has anyone on here done any business with them, if so what do you think of this product. For the price even if they don’t use ARP bolts you could disassemble it and put them in and then drop it in, do u think this investment would be a good idea? I appreciate any comments or personal experience with this company that anyone can provide.

Thank you
-Dave

Where on that link are you seeing a description of it being "built". Built usually means forged internals to us. I would suspect that these are just rebuilt motors using Mitsu rods/pistons.

Call them, only real way to find out an answer. I'm going to call BS on this being a 'built' engine.

Agreed. I would call them and ask them about it first.

I'm gona give them a call, Even if they do use stock Mitsu internals do u think it would be worth it. Or should i just invest in a longblock from someone with experience like slowboy racing etc. I was hopeing to get a longblock so my car wouldn't be down for a long time. My car is my daily driver and i couldn't be without it for a week.

Okay so the 2.4L longblock that u list on your website with a DOHC doesn't come like that? Kinda false advertising if you actually mean a 4G64 SOHC, but the picture shows a DOHC which to many of us around here means a stroker motor.

It Comes Exactly Like The Picture 2.4l Non Turbo Shortblock
First Gen Cyl Head Just Lke The Picture And For That Price
But Keep In Mind The Short Block Is A Oem 2.4l Non Turbo
They Will Work For You But If You Go Big Boost I Recommend
That You Swap Pistons And I Know Road Race In Santa Fe Springs
Has The Pistons You Need .......

petty, Petty or PETTY. It's all petty in my opinion. Personally I find foul language and even the lack of correct spelling more irritating. Thanks for opening the complaint department!

So is the 2.4 block from the spyder a direct swap into a turbo car? Is it any differnt from the 2.4 in the gallant?

yes the 2.4l 96-99 eclipse non turbo shortblock and the 94-98 galant 2.4l short will take the place of your 2.0 block but you need to put lower compression pistons to make the right ratio for your turbo .. i good guy for information on this would be rob garcia at
www.roadraceengineering.com or www.4g63.com
if you see my vendor Announcements i have the new shortblocks ready to go

thanks for the space..............george martin
