On a serious note, spend some time around the site and read as much as you can, you will quickly learn that there have been many 7 bolt cars go very fast completly stock, as well as 6 bolt go even faster stock. Building your motor is really if you blew something by making a tuning mistake the first time, or are shooting for over 450whp.

There is a guy on another dsm board making 425whp in a 7 bolt going 11.3 so he's definatly making the power (stock motor) If and when you decide to build a motor build a 6 bolt like you say, not a 7 they never last. But have fun on your 7 until it dies because it could last for a while depending on the power you wanna make.
