Well, I managed to to do it. I broke the god damn freaking tensioner bolt off in the block. Not the bottom one either, it was the top one. The one that is pretty much impossible to get too.

Ok, so heres it all out on the table...

Replacing the timing belt and the goodies, after 3 tries I got the timing all lined up right, i tightend down the tensioner and CRACK, and i remember cursing for 20 minutes.

The only thing I came up with last night was that the tensioner is part of the front cover for the block. So, I am guessing I have to remove the case. I was wondering if there is any other way to extract the bolt?

Has anyone had this problem before? I know someone has and managed to do it an easy way, so let me here some solutions....

Thanks.

Ouch man. Can you get a pair of vise grips on it or is there not enough of it sticking out?

A punch and a hammer can be used on the broken end of the bolt sometimes to rotate it out. just hit the end of the bolt witht the punch trying to rotate it..it takes some practice.

Got a welder? even if its flush broke you can usually (but carfully) tack weld a nut onto the end of the bolt then wrench it off.

Got a 90 degree air or electric drill? I've got a nice 90 degree air powered drill that would fit up there. If you have access to one you can carefully drill a hole(make SURE notcuttin into the threads) then get a bolt extractor in the hole and twist it out.

I don't often find a bolt I can remove, if it might be rusty PB blaster it awhile and have it sit so it comes out easier.

Let me know how it goes.
