I recently installed my used 14b that i got. I used an ebay install kit. I know I know not the best idea but it was what i had at that time. I ran the car for one night and the shaft broke near the exhaust wheel. I wasn't even running it hard cause i had just installed it. It boosted great and then suddenly under low boost it started to lurch. I pulled over and couldn't see anything wrong so i got it home and took the turbo out and found that the shaft broke. I just ordered a rebuild kit for it and now i need a shaft. There is one on ebay for 127 but i just want you guys's opinions on what to do or check before i get a new shaft. The compressor wheel is good and did not have any damage that i could see. The exhaust housing only has two small cracks that are not the whole way through so I want to hold on to the housings. Also the rest of the shaft is stuck in the cartridge. Any ideas on how i can get the rest of the shaft out? For now I'm gonna put the 14b 13g that i have in it so i can dd it and work on the 14b on the side.
