Broke one of my exhaust mani bolts off.

Doesn't matter, Texas
####!! I was trying to install my new FP exhaust manifold and I did not realize I needed two Evo bolts to go in the front and the regulars in the back.
I tried putting one of the originals in the front, when I realized it would not work I tried to take it out and had apparently stripped the threads.
It did not seem hard enough to be stripping it when I was putting it in.

Anyways, attached is a photo of my stupidity, just thought everyone should see..

I was going to talk to a guy at my work tomorrow that is pretty familiar with that stuff and see if he can help me out.

Thanks iugrad.

No prob, had a exhausts leak in 2 places which melted my timing cover gotta find a new one. Good luck.

you can go to autozone and buy a tap kit. all you do is drill a hole in the broken bolt then use the tap bit to reverse it out. if the threads are stripped on the mani then you can also buy a kit to fix the threads ;) i've had a lot of broken bolts and stripped threads on vehicals.

weld a nut to it and turn it out and then get a thread repair kit and fix it with that. a shop would probably charge you 20 dollars or less to weld a nut to it!! and turn it out while the nut and bolt are still hot from welding it!!! I do it all the time!

Thanks for the comments fellas. I had a buddy come over who welds for a living and tried to weld a nut on twice which broke the bolt again both times.

We used a punch and started to get a bit in there so we could use a "Easy Out" which did not work worth a shit.

I decided to just drill all the way through the remainder of the bolt (2 hours later) I finally get through. Now I am gradually upping in the size of the bit till it's big enough to get a bolt in there.

Thanks iugrad.

gst- You can find them on the FP website, It's called a Evo turbo inlet bolt.
You will need 2 of them for the front holes on the manifold (Closest to the fan).

After hours of drilling that bolt out, finally got everything mounted back up and took her for a test drive today... I must say, I am extremely pleased with that manifold. The green spools faster and the DSM overall seems to be faster (Prob cause I have not driven her in about a month Haha.

As far as the 1st gen Bov goes... I am very happy I went with it, good clean soft sound, much better then the Greddy S IMO.

Thanks to Jusmx141 (Moderator) for helping me with the dodge garage mod!
Greatly appreciated man!!
