So I put in an inline fuel filter onto my snorkel hose from the intake to the valve cover, now, 2 days later, I have oil leaking from my oil cap and (it appears) from my valve cover gasket. Could the filter have caused this? Or is it just a coincidence. Just wanna know before i do PCV, valve cover gasket, and new oil cap/gasket. Thanks

Which filter did u use like size wise. It's possible but not very likely that the filter is to small and not allowing the valve cover to breath properly. There for causing exceeded pressure in valve cover, and the oil is now pushing itself out wherever it can. Either way fix the leaks and if your not getting crazy blow by ditch the filter, or get a catch can setup.

Yeah, i did get one of the smaller filters. Is it possible to get too large of a filter? or is bigger better in this situation. (btw, I'd really like to do a catch can setup but CA smog would be a pain to change it out over and over)

Thanks

I use the gm inline fuel filter when I had mine setup not sure the of the number, now I'm using a catch can. You could make a easy mounting catch can so when you smog you could just swap out the hose and remove can quick. The way I have mine set up it only takes 1 10mm bolt to remove. Then if you saved the stock vac line you could just swap that in quick. Anyway just a thought, as for size of filter I'm not to sure. I would say you don't want anything that's going to restrict the line from working the way it's supposed to.
