Break in after headgasket?

hey guys, after a headgasket job, is there a break-in period i should go thro?

nope, just start the car and let it idle ... check for any obvious leaks. If you don't find anything then drive normal and if you don't notice anything wrong you're fine.
 
I always retorque my head studs after a gasket job. Give it a couple of days to heat cycle, then pull the valve cover and retorque. Personal opinion only. :thumb:

I think that sort of thing has passed with torque-to-yield or torque-to-degree (DSM) head bolts.

But I'm with you. I'm not comfortable with "un-re-torqued" bolts.

Somehow, the motor seems to be.

Beats me.
