so i just put in a cometic HG today after turning my old HG into toast:p
so i was wondering, since it is a multi layer steel HG as opposed to composite, is there a certain type of break-in period mileage wise or light driving. basically when can i get back into my regular driving habits. yeah i beat on her but she loves it:thumb:

As long as you installed it correctly, it's ready to get pounded on.

I have this odd feeling, you'll be back in a few days with a problem...

I had that head gasket!
It was really nice.
for 2.5 years of HARD boosting
a shortage of coolant made me get an OEM 4 layer

Another bit of cheep insurance after about 3 or 4 compleat heat cycles (stone cold to opperating temp) retourqe the head bolts. It might not help but it can't hurt eather:thumb:

Just a friendly reminder... you'll want to make sure you do not over torque them. I've seen this so many times with guys that become paranoid that the gasket is not sealed, they end up stretching the studs and have to pull it again anyway.

I am just curious as to whether or not any machine work was performed before installing a MLS head gasket. Otherwise it isn't gonna wanna seal very well if you didn't at least get the head decked.

I have to agree the little bits good but "more is better" does not work for tourqing hardware :thumb:
