The bushings in my shifter cables are junk where they meet up to the shifter in the car. Are they the same as the under hood ones. If so ill buy two sets of the brass bushingsand do them just not sure if both ends are the same diameter and all the adds for the parts sa"at transmission"

No, they're not the same. The OD of these bushings is much smaller.

And impossible to find no one makes them aftermarket so your stuck going to the dealer, an good luck trying to explain, i tried as carefully as possible saying shifter lever in cab! And they still ordered me shit for in the bay linkage. Pissed me off, still havent gotten those yet to this day! And it's making my 3rd and 2to 3rd shifts notchy!! The shifter base bushings aren't the thing you are looking for either, although i ordered and installed em anyway.

Why try and explain what you want, just order them by part number from JNZ - MB367320

hal i have a 2g anyidea what the part number fr the 2g bushings are. maybe the dealer will have an exploded view. im looking for the whole rubber piece with the little metal ring in the center. i have a mitsu dealer right down the street but my car was an auto car swapped so they wont be able to get it from my vin so i need the part number.

Yeah those are the numbers i gave first, then the parts guy insisted on clairfying. The tech was all ####ed up i was doing it over the phone, thought it would be simple as giving the part numbers, the. You realize your talking to an idiot.

I don't deal with dealership staff anymore.

These cars are not all that common and the parts/service staff appear to have a limit on the amount of model specific information they can recall from the space between their ears.

I use ASA to get the part number and then order via JNZ.

For the stuff that's no longer available I either do without, check the salvage yard, or make it myself.

As Hal said, I would just go directly to JNZ for that stuff and bypass the dealership. You can find some bushings on ebay like these:

DSM Brass Shifter Cable Bushing Kit Eclipse Talon Short | eBay

But I'd still probably trust JNZ or another reputable DSM retailer. You don't know if the ebay ones have been tested or not.
