I can go with the Speed Factor which has Brembo rotors on all 4 corners with my choice of cross drilled, slotted, both, or plain it also comes with pads(unsure of brand) and ss ss lines for $425.00 not including shipping

Or I can get the same stuff off ebay for cheaper

Brembo rotors cross drilled slotted- 199.00 shipped
axxis pads all 4 corners- 86 shipped
Techna ss brake lines(8)- 121 shipped
Total=406.00 shipped

Should I save the 30-40 bucks and piece it out or just go with a kit thats stated above? I'm thinking piece it out since it's the same thing but cheaper what do you think?

If its the same thing and what you want, then you can decide to go the cheaper route, or support the site sponsors and vendors. Your call.

Nothing to discredit the ebay vendor, but I'd feel a lot better about buying from a reliable vendor like the Speed Factor. With them you know exactly what you're getting.

I would have to agree with this 110%. Brakes are not something you want to go "cheap" on.

The thread isn't about qaulity, it's mostly aimed at saving just a few bucks.
I say support the small business and not the eBay business. When you have a problem I believe Marty (?) will be there to talk to you, the eBay vender most likely won't be.

buy from the shop more likely to be around in the future, even if everything goes perfectly well. Having a good relationship with a parts vendor (or any small business) is that it is definitely a two way street.

Don't get the <s>cracked</s> drilled rotors- get slotted if you must, but blank work just fine

in the over 2 years we have been selling this kit we have NEVER had a complaint about a cracked rotor. Not from any of the markets we sell these kits too. That says alot. It's all in the process. If it is done the ghetto way then it is risky. the way ours are done is a proven method that we stand behind.

I'd save up an extra $300 or less and get the Baer kit - 13'' rotors with dual pistion calipers. I got mine for $620 shipped with slotted/zinc washer rotors at streetortrack.com

While I agree, many people go for long periods without any issues. I don't think it's worth the risk, especially since with enough abuse, even high quality drilled rotors will crack. This one (attached image) came off a friends car, was not cheap, and the only thing holding it together was the hat.

That being said, the whole point of drilling the rotor is to look cool, and weight reduction. It actually makes sense on things like motorcycles that generate way less braking heat, and the weight is noticeable. I don't think sacrificing thermal capacity, and risking the potential issue of cracking is worth it, especially when you guys already sell blank & slotted rotors, both of which I would consider a better alternative.

My statement was not that the person should say 'sky is the limit', but to confirm your exact statement. I would not trust something as important as brakes to some ebay 'vendor' who god only knows if that 'vendor' will be around next week or where they got the parts in the first place, and that a person should stick with a proven product and vendor. I am all for saving some money, but not at the expense of my life or my family. Which I would have to assume the person I quoted from ment also.

Well guys thank you for the input and you are right saving a few bucks is not worth it plus I realized I need to support our DSM vendors. I went ahead and ordered that kit from Marty at the SpeedFactor. Not only does it come with no q asked if something happens he also threw in free shipping and upgraded pads since I didn't go with the ebay stuff. That my friends is customer service/good buisness he will get my buisness again!!! :thumb: for you guys and TheSpeedFactor!!!!!

That is what I was going to do but Jan 1st baer just had a big price increase, that kit is now like $840, and if I went with that large of a rotor I'd want the 2 piece because of the weight which is now like a $240 option.

As far as the cross drilled/slotted rotors Id be cautious where you buy them from, some people don't know what their doing, which could cause the brakes to fail (crack, explode, etc). When it comes to brakes personally Id stick with rotors that come from the factory slotted such as the brembo sports or the power slot. I also see baer now has the decelarotor which is drilled & slotted from the factory and has a 3 year warranty against cracking and worping. Im getting the info on the warranty as the whole reson for me upgrading my brakes is I worped the tiny fwd brakes really easily.
