For some reason my passenger side brake light/bulb keeps going out. It works fine when the tailights are on but as soon as i hit the brake the bulb doesnt light up(when i let off the brake it comes back on). I've replaced it 4 time so far and a few days later someone will tell me my brake light is out. Can anyone help. Also it the type of bulb with 2 contacts on the bottom which i think is why the tailights work but when i hit the brakes it goes off.:dsm:

I had something similar happening to mine. There was a wire that is supposed to touch the bulb that comes out of the wire. That wire kept coming lose as I was driving around. Make sure this wire is connecting propery because i highly doubt the bulbs keep burning out. If it's not the wire, my next task would be to start checking fuses and wires. Good luck with the fix.

No clue, my guess was that it was the wire for the brakes. The other one must have been fine. I'm just stating my situation compared to yours. I had a wire that was coming loose, caused lights to fail when braking, just made sure the wire sticks in, now everything works fine. If anything, check your fuses and connections like I said previously.

red97tib you were right thanks. I took the bulb out and there was a black wire that just kind of sits there. I checked the other side to see what its supposed to be touching and i used some e tape to hold it in place until i can solder it in a few days.
