BOV recirc ,Dsmlink ,Battery

Ok I bought the car with a vented bov ,it runs ok but it is so rich . I'm going to recirc it . I have Dsmlink v3 . I know I can tune it out but that's ok . 1g bov basic tune on Dsmlink if it matters . Question is do I have to unhook the battery to reset the ecu after I hook up recirc tube ? And the check engine lights are turned off with the Dsmlink will they come back on if I unhook the battery ? I haven't gotten my inspection sticker yet . Thanks Kurt

you can. but if im not mistaken the ecu will run its test's and turn it off for you

You can just clear the code through dsmlink. No need to unhook the battery

Update your vehicle profile. I'm pretty sure DSMLink doesn't work on a 98 Ford F150.

You can't "tune out" venting your BOV. It's an unknown amount of lost metered air. There's not a tuner alive that can use any software to accommodate for venting the BOV improperly.

OK , I think I'm updated now . That was the problem Dsmlink wouldn't work on the F-150 ( ha ha ) . I was a member before I had a car . 96 GSX and I'd like to change battery anyway . Just don't want check engine lights to come back on . I don't have a laptop and haven't messed around with Dsmlink yet . Also haven't got my inspection sticker yet .No need till spring really . Cars in garage ,got a foot of snow last night . Already bought new injen intake with recirc port for bov should have it this week . Thanks
