BOV leaks at idle with high idle

Ok it might simply just be a tune but let me explain. lately ive had quite the stumbly idle on start up like a missfire but today my car has started idling close to 3k now with some inspection i found that the BOV is blowing out a sufficient amount of air(ive read this is normal) so out of curiosity to fix the problem i plugged the bov with my hand. idle went all stumbly again. along with these problems lately (last week) ive been hitting fuel cut at 4-5k with a 16g at wg psi. i dont know if this problem is relevant or a whole different problem. tonight i checked my isc. resistance was good so i went to my tps, voltage good. BUT i moved it all the way clockwise it could go and started the car. idle was no longer stumbling. so i drove it(still fuel cutting ) and idle slowly at every stop got a little higher and higher from 1100 to 2000 by the time i got home. got home and played with the BOV again by covering it. this brought the idle back down. now i understand im not recirculated on the stock tune so the car is confused with airflow. and its a 1g BOV with the car having emissions delete. i have read only one post like this and it was unresolved.

Do you have a tuner? It seems like a bad tune. I had a turbo xs and it was leaking like crazy, switched it out for a 1g and that helped a lot. I don't think you are getting fuel cut. I think its a mix of a bad tune and boost leak. Btw, you should fill out your profile so we know what is on your car.

not yet when i get the money im going for one. and i was thinking that also b/c its not straight fuel cut its a studder type of boost.

Vented BOV and stock MAF? Try to recirculate the BOV again. Then any airflow out the BOV is metered. The idle is rough when you block it because the fuel trims have already tried to compensate for the unmetered air going through the BOV.

Thanks for filling that out. You should not be getting fuel cut until like 17+ psi. I suggest you start with a new bov. I think i got mine from craigslist for like 15. Start there and boost leak check like crazy!!

i think the MAF is stock but would there be any affect due to the recirc tube after the MAF? and makes a good amount of sense. where could i get a tube that can bend. my BOV faces the back of the car

Bstaley, this is a new BOV and i checked it when i got it, it was good. a BLT will tell me if its still good though.

If it is a 1g BOV, you should be able to unbolt it and turn it 180° on that flange.

If you can, post a photo of your current setup. That would help us point out some changes that can help you get your car running better.

It looks like someone may have hacked the tube on the intake off flush. But if you flip the BOV 180° and figure out how to recirculate the BOV back into the intake, I bet the car will run much better.

You can usually go to your local auto parts store and get them to find you a short radiator hose with whatever shape bend you need. Most of the time, they'll even let you into the back hose aisle to let you look at them yourself.

ok sweet ill check into that tomorrow and yes i said the same thing with the tube, they weren't very neat about it

and like today the car is very tempermental. drove to school A/F ratios were good at idle and under hard boost, it was pulling great and idling pretty good, a little on the high side around 1500
