1g Bov Leaks @ Idle?

My BOV is leaking at idle. The weather is cold here in central, N.Y. and when I put my hand over the exit hole I can feel cold air blowing over it at idle. I can imagine theair flow under boost!! I run a MAF as a blow trough so I am able to check the BOV this way. I will have to remove the BOV but what do I look for? The spring should hold it closed at idle, correct? Thanks, Mark

My 1g BOV had just a bit of leak at idle too, I have MAFT as well so it whistled and annoyed the crap out of me. I ended up putting it in a vice and just crushing it enough to hold the spring shut at idle.

That is pretty normal. The bov is vacuum actuated. At idle on a good leak free system the vacuum the car pulls is enough to open the bov. Just because it leaks at idle doesn't mean it is going to leak all the time. When you drive the postive manifold pressure and spring pressure help it to seal.
