Ok, so i was bored today [1st day off w/ no plans in a long time] and thought what the hell might as well get some free mods in on the old eclipse. Well i tried the BOV dump tube cut free mod that shortens the length of the dump tube internally in the intake snorkal. I followed:
http://www.tgilmore.com/talon/dumptube.html
that i got from VFAQ.com. Well Now my question is that i can no longer hear my BOV at all, even at WOT. Before i could at least hear a chirp. I really didn't do this "free mod" to increase BOV sound, but i sure as hell didnt do it for a decrease in BOV sound.

Does Anyone have a clue or had a similiar experience as to why this is or what my problem is? It would be very helpful!

Yah, seems to be pretty common after that free mod. Get some upper intercooler pipes and an intake and you'll be all set. :thumb:
Seem like just a "k&N" type open filter made the biggest BOV noice difference for me, if still have your stock airbox on that is.

My BOV noise decreased going from the stock rubber intake pipe to the steel Dejon Tool one. Go figure.

The BOV sounds went away because when the throttle shuts, the air recirculates into that dump tube is restrictive and have to fight through that small hole. When you cut the tube, it is wide open. :thumb:

On my 2g talon, when i cut the tube and when i added a k&n filter it made the turbo and the bov WAY louder. The stock 2g bov isn't that great sound wise but it was def louder than stock.

When I was using my stock BOV it never did make much of any sounds. I did the same free mod and it actually made a very slightly louder sound at WOT. As said above get an upper IC pipe and a BOV that recirculates and you will be good to go. Throw an intake pipe in there too if you can.
